A
sedimentary rock consisting usually of
quartz, cemented with silica, iron oxide
or calcium carbonate. Sandstone is durable,
has a very high crushing and tensile strength,
and a wide range of colors and textures.
Sandstone slabs and sandstone tiles are
typically used as flooring or paving material.
Sandstone is suitable for both Interior
& Exterior Applications. Sandstone
slabs and sandstone tile are especially
useful for exterior cladding in sea shore
buildings due to acid & thermal resistant
properties. As such, the effect of saline
winds is negligible on sandstone. Sandstone
slabs and sandstone tiles are also suitable
for use in chemical industries as flooring,
wall fixing & lining due to its acid
and alkali resistant properties. Sandstone
blocks can be chiseled and dressed to
a smooth surface in various attractive
shapes.
Sandstone is ideal for carving and architectural
uses such as sandstone pillars, sandstone
arches, sandstone garden furniture, sandstone
fountains, landscaping products and stone
arts & crafts. Indian Sandstone basically
found in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya
Pradesh & other states of India. |
